Default For fabric collectors...

I just saw this on Facebook and had to share. I think this is a genius idea for organizing fabric in a small space!

This would probably work best for yardage. If you had scraps of that color, you would have to fold them into it. Lots of little bits you're still stuck with boxes.

Some "efficiency" experts say "trim all your scraps into strips." Do that and sooner or later youll be sorry. Because you'll need a piece that's 6x3, and the only one you can find used to be 6x3, until you trimmed it down to 6x2 1/2. :curses:

TRIM NOTHING!

That's how I screwed myself on DD's quilt. Fabric no longer available.

It's a black with some depth due to less dye in some spots. I think I may *just* have enough from scraps.

It's that damned Venice Rose paper pieced. There are mirror image wedges. When I went back to work on it, I went to add newly completed wedges to the original two quarters of the circle. I discovered I had switched the foundation papers, so the colours were messed up. I took them apart, and scoured the house for scraps (trimmed, of course). I had rough cut all pieces in the beginning...years ago.

I've been afraid to go back to it in case there's not enough. I think, if I'm exceptionally careful, and skimp on the odd seam, I might, maybe, make it. I think there's a picture here somewhere. I'll take a look.

I think you can see the black here, MA. I purchased it at the LQS about 2008, I think. I was working on it when Mom died.

OK, here's the fabric. It's a JoAnn fabric called "Strokes" and it's being discontinued. (Of course it is. It's the black fabric that I prefer!) That's an American quarter for scale; they're the same size as Canadian quarters. If it will work, how much do you need?

That scan makes it look lighter than it really is. It's a very deep black, and the pattern is a dark charcoal gray.
