Default Again God Demonstrates His Anger

I am getting so tired of our leaders constantly turning to science to explain why why all this weather violence is occurring. The scientists can give you secular reasons but as I have said before it is really spiritual reasons. Simply and again stated GOD IS MAD AT AMERICA AND BRINGING JUDGMENT UPON IT! Laugh and scoff at me if you like, but there is a Holy and Righteous God who created our universe through Intelligent Design. There is no conceivable way this universe happened all on its own and continues to function without one flaw or error with such absolute precision. AND THIS HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS GOD WILL NOT TOLERATE THE CONTINUING SINNING AGAINST HIM BY ANY NATION BEFORE BRINGING JUDGMENT UPON IT.

These weather events are of a supernatural origin. When has a group of thunderstorms with such devastation traveled nearly 800 miles at a speed of over 80 MPH. And then we have those Colorado fires (the worst in state history) caused by two well placed lightening strikes and who controls nature by the way? I have not seen such unusual weather in all my 76 years and know these events are not natural.

There is only one way we can stop this raging weather and other calamities God is sending us and that is to repent of our evil ways and turn back to Him so God can forgive this nation and heal the land and return our weather to a beneficial nature once more. Until we do I can guarantee our weather will continue to get worse along with other natural disasters on the increase. WE NEED TO SAY "GOD SAVE AMERICA" RATHER THAN "GOD BLESS AMERICA"

9.5 earthquake, Valdivia, Chile May 22, 1960; 6,000 people dead.

Heat Wave, Europe 2003; 70,000 dead

Heavy snowfall and floods, central China, 1931; somewhere between 3.7 and 4 million people were drowned or starved.

Volcanic eruption, Mt. Tambora, Indonesia, April 6 to 11, 1815; 92,000 people were killed, most by starvation.

Cyclone, India, November 25, 1839; 300,000 dead

Earthquake, Shaanxi Province, China, January 23, 1556; 830,000 dead

Earthquake, Antioch, Byzantine Empire (now Turkey), May 526; 250,000–300,000 dead

Earthquake, Aleppo, Syria October 11, 1138; 230,000 dead

Avalanche triggered by earthquake, Peru, 1970; 20,000 dead

Blizzard, Iran, 1972; 4,000 dead

Black Death, Asia, Europe, & Africa, 1300s–1720s 100 million dead (est)

Spanish Flu, Worldwide , 1918–1920; 50–100 million dead

Looks like your god doesn't like anyone, anywhere, any time. I prefer not to worship a god that behaves like a toddler with a temper tantrum.

You know...I think a certain former TBM member was right about Ed's hit and run posting style.

It'd be nice if Ed stayed around to engage in the aftermath of his/her's comments.

The one thing every fundamentalist of all religions agree upon is that God is angry at us and is punishing because we are not Christian/Muslim/Jew enough ... Isn't that most contradicting ?

Default "The church is interested in being a help in the time of need," he said.

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news...cho/55989976/1

At The United Methodist Church in Dunn Loring, Va., air conditioning was a sure-fire inducement for expanding the flock. A hand-painted 3-foot-by-6-foot sign on its lawn beckoned: "We have A/C. Join us."

pastor Todd Schlechty and his family had taken refuge there after enduring the heat at their powerless house. "If we don't have power, I figured a lot of other people didn't have power," he said.

So with assistance from his son, 8, and daughter, 12, Schlechty painted the sign and invited the community to partake of the cool air. And as things go in a modern-day ministry, Schlechty rigged extension cords and power strips in the sanctuary so people could recharge their electronics along with their spirits. "We had a lot of people come in with cellphones and tablets and laptops," he said.

Yesterday, in addition to worship services, the church organized a cookout and a kickball game. Families stayed until late in the evening, Schlechty said.

"The church is interested in being a help in the time of need," he said.

No discussion? How can Ed(it) be considered a member of a "dicsussion forum?"

O6 should come back and debate him some more.

It would be more like two similar screaming matches....pretty useless like the OP here.

Nothing supernatural in all these events like there's nothing supernatural in bringing down childhood deaths by vaccinations like we do with vaccines for childhood diseases since WW2. Fundamentalist believers refuse many of them because it should be gods judgement. More babies die in the fundamentalists population then among the other people (who range from mellow believers to totally atheist).

So what does that say about god, anger & true believers?

Because Gaia doesn't take any notice of the human creatures that live on her skin.

Look at it this way -- every time you wash your face or hands, you destroy hundreds of thousands of the individual bacteria that live on your skin. If they prayed to you in the "right" way, would you take pity on them and put down the soap?

Unless the rules are changed this hit and run posting style is acceptable. And even if we don't get to discuss with Ed we get to discuss with each other.

06 just blew it in how he told Ed what he thought. Didn't we all know that?

I dunno if this is a 'funny' post or not but it's sure cool to see God is mad at everyone pretty often

Or maybe it just washes it's face and we hurt.....

Of course, some PEOPLE just have to have "SOMEONE" to blame for everything.

If you are too ignorant to comprehend the magnitude of the natural order of things, and that sometimes "sh&t" just happens, and/or disturbed systems produce disturbing results, then in your small mind, it's easier to BLAME GOD.

After all, he won't join in the conversation and stand up for himself, now WILL HE?????

It's sort of like Ought 6 calling people out on "Ad Hominem" attacks.

Who's going to call out anyone for "Ad deim" attacks.

To each his/her own, but I prefer to leave religion out of discussions. I do not subscribe to it.

That list was only a sampling. I was looking for really large-scale natural disasters. Since it would be boring to read 100 lines of earthquakes in China, I cherry-picked several from each category, spreading the list over the centuries.

A person on another forum just posted this, which seems appropriate to Ed's screaming rant above:

Quote:
If you have to shout that loudly, it is usually because you have to shout down all of the dissenting voices so you don't hear them and aren't tempted.

I never got why an omnipotent, omniscient entity would bother with anger. The omniscience should rule out anger - a Supreme Being possessing that quality knows we're going to act the inferior beings we are purported to be. And omnipotence means that source of irritation is easily cured - wipe the slate clean.

Why create inferior beings - a Supreme being capable of lonliness, a need to be feared & worshipped? Uh uh - those are HUMAN charactoristics; not those I associate with genuine godhood.

I've yet to encounter a conception of a god any less fallible or imperfect than the collective people who believed in it... I would hope such a being would have far more important things to worry about.
