It could have been rewritten or appropriately punctuated, but it deserved some kind of editorial attention.
I see some very sloppy work on Internet news sites. It's no wonder so few young people can write or punctuate correctly. Why bother? They see things that are awful showing up, and either don't realize it is wrong, or believe it doesn't matter if it's wrong because it still gets published.
What a high standard we are setting...
