Default How to count parallel universes: p-adic numbers

Theoretically there's an infinite number of parallel universes which makes them hard to count which means it's also hard to say anything definitive about them.

One technique used by cosmologists to research into this is using p-adic numbers.

For an explanation (and a much better intro) read here:

Good article - thanks.

Now I am off to use my new favorite word in a sentence - non-Archimedeanness.

For there to be parallel universes, there must be realities which change as 'random' events occur. Also, it would be a huge coincidence for several missions from the future to have targeted, specifically, the timeline which we know as our past as opposed to all the other timelines (an infinite number) in which they could have arrived. I have zero confidence in either scenario.
