First memo redacts in Two paragraphs regarding "use of insects" strongly suggests that Zubaydah has a spider phobia.
Second memo dances around the prohibition of "mental pain" by stating words to the effect that "no permanent harm has come to the thousands of servicemen who have undergone waterboarding, etc. SERE training." Of course the missing ingredient here is trust. When you are a serviceman undergoing training, you trust your instructors are not attempting to kill you, and at some point the training will
cease, and your life return to normal - the Inspector General mentions this same distinction in another memo.
Further memo cheese pares by saying America only has to abide by Geneva Conventions "on it's own territories" - meaning that the CIA can do what it likes overseas.
This is troubling.
