Default DD was sent home from school...

With 99.9 fever and a tummy ache. Now she seems better, I have been giving her Sambucol, vitamin D, and an immune booster chewable with tumeric, garlic, zinc, and vitmanins A, C, and E. This is my kid who never misses school. Now I wonder--could this be it for her? Somehow I do not think so, even though she said her throat was a bit scratchy and her legs a bit weak.

This virus is so difficult to diagnose and so sneaky!!

That it is.

I know myself for a while I tried to convince my self it wasn't H1N1.

It just didn't act like the regular flu I have had in the past. No severe nausea/vomiting and diarrhea. No super high fever.

It kind of starts like a cold but lasts a lot longer and it "cycles". (At least for me, YMMV.)

What Pot said - for a week, I 'knew' it was just a cold.

Well whatever virus this is, it is cyclical. She is feeling great and running around one minute and then she is lying down saying she does not feel good. She cycles through this several times a day. No fever though... and she has not thrown up although she has wanted to several times. No coughing either--I think it is all the supplements I am pumping her with and possibly this bug is just gastrointestinal. She has been on 1000UIs of D3 since June and spent lots of the summer outside soaking in the sun.

I have been giving her elderberry (Sambucol) every 3 hours, plus vitamin C.

If she's 'cycling' it sounds viral of some sort. Whatever she has, all you've been giving her may be keeping it subclinical. Ideally she's got it that is, she's INFECTED, is feeling a bit punky but will get no worse than this. Instead, she'll build up a nice load of antibodies.

If she's been healthy up to now, I wouldn't worry too much. Just watch her & hope it passes soon.
