Hmmm. I am going to have to call my parents on Wednesday to see how they and my two sisters fared. They all live in the Santa Rosa area.

I live in Santa Rosa area too.

I'm looking forward to the storm. It's the only chance I get to use all that Prep equipment when the power invariably goes out!

High voltage power line knocked down in CA storm
Associated Press - October 13, 2009 8:24 PM ET

FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) - California's electricity grid manager has declared a power emergency after strong winds knocked down a high-voltage transmission line in Monterey County....

The independent operator is urging Northern Californians to conserve energy for the rest of the day.

Officials say the power flow has been cut by a third.

Was in the South Bay and Monterey Peninsula for the storm. Rains varied from 4" to 10" in part of a day, record rain amounts everywhere. Wind driving water UNDER the sliding patio doors at the house I was at, and a few tons of a farmers plowed field ending up in the yard washed off the fields and down the roads by runoff. Quite impressive. Still, not too damaging as such things go.
