My friends son has H1N1
So I get a msg this morning that my friends teenage son has H1N1, his Dad took him to emerg yesterday and they gave him tamiflu. The daughter has been sick on and off over the last few days but is in school today since she's feeling better. Hello, she'll still be contagious so now I'm sure the whole school will get sick!
I'm not judging I know I'm over protective but my friend told me that she's got errands to run today and is out doing that. I wouldn't leave my childs side for a second unless maybe she had to go to a store in town I hope just to get stuff for the sick child. Even doing that, if that were me I'd have someone do that for me.
I reminded her this morning in a msg (still haven't talked to her) to please keep a close eye on him, young healthy people are dying from this. Also she is high risk because of asthma, went to get the shot yesterday and I'm reminding her that it takes a fews days for the shot to take affect and H1N1 is very contagious so she could already have it.
I'm looking forward to speaking to her on the phone later today. Also her other child that probably either has H1N1 from her brother that has it or will get it is going to a couple of halloween parties this weekend. Halloween is going to ramp up the cases big time! The next couple of weeks should be a mess!

I am helping in DD's classroom tomorrow for their second grade party. I will be taking my elderberry before I show up.

My DD plans on going to 2 parties this weekend, plus she works all day Saturday and her job deals with the public.
I am sure that what she already had was H1N1, but with the test results coming back negative, I'm still worried.

The Halloween party was a real swine flu party... the kids paraded through the entire school, with the other kids at the walls watching, shouting and cheering on. It was like some sort of horror movie, with kids coughing and sneezing on everything... And I had to bring my youngest one to the school party since my daycare provider is sick again and has been closed for half of the week. I hope we did not pick up the flu... DD should be immune after her sickness in September but there are other colds and viruses going around too. I am worried about my youngest; he and I both took elderberry extract before going there. I sanitized his hands at least 5 times in the course of the party too.

Ieeeee Caaannnt HELP IT!
Maybe a good costume for this Saturday would be a Doctor? With mask & gloves? Or if you're REALLY worried, a hazmat suit complete with goggles & sanitizer spray. After all, it's dress-up time. What's more scary than H1N1 undertaker. "Bring out your dead!"
Everyone ELSE will think it's a costume. Only YOU know it's for real!

That sounds just horrible, what a halloween nightmare! You must have felt sick and been thinking "get me the heck outta here!".

LOL, what a smart idea, it's perfect! Don't forget to get the kids to hold the bottle of sambucol in their hands!

AG, would she go along with the mask & goggles idea for a costume? Something tells me no way Mom is what you would here!

DD has agreed to stay in tonight. Thanks heavens for that. She looked exhausted when I drove her to work this morning. The last thing we need is her to be run down again.
If she does decide to head out tonight, I will suggest the mask and gown. Thats a great idea. One of the kids at school had a costume on similar. White gown, mask, sanitizer bottles taped to his arms, and a pig on his back with a line through it.
This miserable weather is not going to help things!

Oh good AG one less thing to worry about right!
I just found out from my friend that my DS narrowly missed being exposed to H1N1. At the computer class last Thursday, 2 sisters have H1N1 and the brother was at the class. The Mom claims that she's kept him away from the girls but unless you are really good at quaranting I wouldn't count on the boy not having it! I am so glad I kept him out last week!!!!

Funny it was a call from my Mother 1300 miles away telling me to keep the kids away from the class for now, usually I don't listen to Mom but this time I did, so thanks Mom!
