Cake Pops - hello, trend!
These are cute as heck... look fairly labour intensive for some of the fancier ones but man could you have fun putting togther these things for a charity fund raiser or special occasion:

Here's HOW to make them:

Well.... aren't they just adorable..... They would be great to make for the next school bake sale, they'd sell like hotcakes.
I was in Michaels last week. They had big cake decorating kits. Huge fondant rollers etc. I was so tempted but they were almost $400.00 ! I would use it all the time, but I'll wait until they come down in price. Hey, 4 kids and a big family, I would get my money's worth....eventually.
When I watch Cake Boss or any of those shows, I always tell myself, I'm going to learn how to do that. It's pretty simple, just technique. I love the chocolate cakes with the coloured polka dots. Pink's my fav. Problem is if I buy the kit.... we will all gain weight.

Those are adorable! I would love to do them for the next Breast Cancer Bake a Thon. Two friends just walked in the 3-Day this past weekend. I'm so proud of them, thats 60 miles ! Thanx for the idea.

To me they look like the perfect size for special treats for Very Smalls. There are probably tons of patterns for the themed treats in the images. I love the bouquet of flowers - imagine hosting a garden club luncheon & having those as both the centerpiece & dessert!
They'd be great decorations for place settings for all sorts of special events & I suspect the basic ones aren't tough to make - a practice session or two & one would get the hang of it.

LOVELIEST of trees, the cherry now / Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride / Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten, / Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score, / It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom / Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go / To see the cherry hung with snow.

We call these "cake balls" and make them for Christmas every year--I use a spice cake recipe and mix with cream cheese frosting, then dip in red and green tinted melted white chocolate. They usually go pretty fast.
I did learn the hard way that when I put them in the garage to cool, I need to make sure that the door is closed...one year, my neighbor's dog got in and ate a whole tray (before the coating was on)
