Shipping cloud tracks

Ship tracks and cloud formation

I have just read a short paragraph saying that denser clouds form along
shipping routes as particles emitted by ships form the neucleus of clouds.

Frankly it was the first I had heard of such an effect and so I went looking
for supporting images. All the images below are tagged "ship tracks" so
I assume they are not aircraft trails.

Many more are to be found doing a google search on 'Ship tracks clouds" .








PS ...... What does this say about the US Navy and an ability to hide from satellites. ?
IMO in the next war sailors are sooooo sunk.
