If you get C-span, listen in on the House. These folks are about to come to blows. Its sounding like the house of commons up there.

Thanks for the heads up! It does sound like the house of commons! Every time they keep showing the wide, long shot of the gallery, one thought keeps popping in my head..."rogues gallery"

This seems to get uglier as the hours go by.., Do they think they are earning their pay?

Drama and hyperbole from Hary Reid.., "soldiers in Afghanistan, as the bombs are going off around them, asking one question: will we get paid?"

Its all about blind loyalty to the party. These folks have got to have the guts to do what is right for their constitutents, not what the leaders tell them to do. I've been watching this for four days now, and have not heard any thing new since thursday.

Now the Repubs in the House have rejected the bill by the Senate Dems.

Couldn't agree more! But nobody's paying me for weeks/months/years of lack of business due to these clowns. Two weeks?! Puleez!! Let me tell ya...a LOT of them are leeches and pariahs, especially those associated directly to CONgress(obviously not directed at the average fed worker who doesn't have A CLUE!) I think I've mentioned here how a VERY liberal (let's put it this way...Che loving) relative (yep I'm the black sheep ) who worked as a congressional aide, now higher up the food chain, told me- first, he was going to DC to "crack some knuckles" and then proceeded to brag how the aides write c@rp in the bills, because their bosses never read them, and how they afforded themselves perks like getting their student loans paid off!! And they already are WAY overpaid!!! And DC is sooo "incestous" - this relative had drug problems in college...but you get connected to the right people... Boot 'em all out! At the very least, term limits!!!

Amen!! Thanks for posting this- I have to forward this to a whole bunch of people!!

I also noticed the lack of telepromters Even after getting twice interrupted by the blowhard (who I think was purposely trying to make Rubio lose his groove) and still stayed on message - and demeanor! We could use more statesmen like that.

The GOP have been trying to recruit him, but he's rejected them. The fact that there are 12 million hispanics expected to vote this cycle probably does not have anything to do with them wanting him. That said, of the freshman class, he has puts the rest to shame.

Thanks!!! for the video.
I think he puts 'em all to shame, not just the freshman

Anybody have a list on how he's voted in the past?
I looked through his profile and I'm impressed with what I see, but didn't see anything on his views of immigration, illegals, abortion, gun control, all the hot topic issues.

He's from Florida - Miami area. Son of Cuban immigrants who did not become US citizens until several years after his birth.

ABC Reports Tentative Debt Ceiling Deal Reached Between GOP And Obama

This could very well be another red herring like the NYT article from two weeks ago that
proved to be a dud, but for what it's worth according to ABC's Jonathan Karl,
the White House and the GOP have just reached a tentative deal as follows...

Debt ceiling increase of up to $2.8 trillion
Spending cuts of roughly $1 trillion
Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)
Committee must make recommendations before Thanksgiving recess
If Congress does not approve those cuts by late December, automatic across-the-board
cuts go into effect, including cuts to Defense and Medicare.

Question ...
Will this pass the Senate ?

Remember that it is far worse to have a debt downgrade than a temporary default as this adds huge amounts of interest to the debt bill .
I note Moodys are now saying no downgrade if the new proposal passes.
What a farce .

The chief economist of Moody's is Mark Zandi, the architect of QE2. He's a political hack who now advises the democrats.

Harry Reid Supports Debt Ceiling Compromise; Defense Cuts a Sticking Point

If this deal passes the Senate, it will have to be taken as a victory for the Tea Party caucus in the House and Senate. This deal cuts spending and does not raise taxes, though the Dems swore that they would never accept that.
