Heizer Defense DoubleTap .45 Pistol
This is being discussed on a few forums. I'd love to see the specifications.
It's not yet available, as far as I know. I never really thought of the good old .45 ACP as a derringer cartridge. But if the little gun is super tiny and light, and a person already carries a .45 pistol, it might make sense as a last ditch backup weapon. You only have two quick shots, then you get to reload with the two extra rounds hiding inside the grip.

Looks like quite the wrist-breaker.

I'm with you there. I remember a buddy bringing a .357 derringer once. Despite the fat grips that made it like holding a doorknob, it was pretty small, with the typical derringer spur trigger. He'd only shoot it with .38 loads, but I decided a Real Man would use magnums. Damn, that thing beat the crap out of my second finger!

For $300 or less, I'd consider it.

It is all titanium, so I would guess at least double that price. But it should not be long before someone (Keltec?) makes a far less expensive version with a polymer frame.

I want it in 9mm. Sorry.
Not willing to add another caliber.
9mm Hydro-Shok and the defensive round.

Anodized orange. Yea. I wonder if it would give you additional legal or civil protections?
"You didn't give him a chance! You hid your black dull gun!"
"No way! It was bright orange!"

I have a 9mm derringer. I prefer a .45 and carry said with hydroshock shells. A 9mm is just a .38 and not near enough stopping power.
I also have a Desert Eagle 50 A&E but its too heavy to carry every day.

Yep, I'm still working on "Hollywood Carry" for .44 mags, Automags, Desert Eagles, etc. You know: the prop man carries it for you until the scene where you actually have to use it....

If I am going to have a gun bearer, he is going to be bearing an Mk 48 Mod 1 and an M320. If you are going to have backup, you may as well have *BACKUP*.
So far as the derringer, I will not be trading in my Ruger LCP for one.
