Just read the nearly 1 in 20 kids are being opted out of vaccinations they need to keep epidemics at bay!!

This trend has been getting worse as the years go by and I think it is extremely dangerous.

And in eight states, more than 1 in 20 public school kindergartners do not get all the vaccines required for attendance, an Associated Press analysis found. That has health officials worried about possible new outbreaks of diseases that were all but stamped out…

"Many of the vaccines are unnecessary, and public health officials don't honestly know" the effects of giving so many vaccines to such small children, said Jennifer Margulis, a mother of four and parenting book author in Ashland, Ore., a small liberal community that has unusually high vaccination exemption rates.

It amazes me how often "liberal" and "dumb as rocks" go hand-in-hand.

The sad thing is that it is often not THEIR kids who die as a result. For example, the whooping cough outbreaks often occur in infants (not necessarily siblings of unvaccinated older kids) who have not even had a chance to get vaccinated yet because they are too young. The vaccination approach relies to a great degree on herd immunity, which starts to fall away very quickly once more than a few percent of people are unvaccinated. This is the height of selfishness at the end of the day, because the anti-vax crowd is relying on the diligence of others who are willing to vaccinate their own kids notwithstanding the slight risks that vaccination poses.

Yes, the ones who will pay with the lives of their children are often those who would have vaccinated, but haven't aged enough yet.....

The anti-vax crowd is a classic case of bad science run amok.
