Well, if you pay close attention to the video, this lawyer STARTED his involvement being litigating a case involving FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.

I.e., he's actually in favor of full rights for both females and males as infants.

There are already a lot of laws involving female genital mutilation, but none protecting males.

I find it amusing to point out to pro circumcision advocates that the same arguments used to support FGM has been used to support circumcision.

"I keeps them pure and keeps them from masturbating."

"It keeps them clean and healthy"

"I don't want them different than their sister/mother/brother/father"

Since the clinical circumcision started around 1870 there have been excuse after excuse.

One comes up, it gets knocked down, one after the other.

Our son was born in NYC. I practically had to grab the scalpel out of the doctor's hand to keep them from cutting him.

I was terrified Roger would be cut without our consent and/or be forcibly retracted. I inadvertently saw a newborn boy seconds after being forcibly mutilated...the screaming/blood etc will haunt me to the end of my days. I was an intactivist the moment I found out I was having a boy...after that incident I will not rest until MGM is made illegal in Canada and the US. I can't. It makes me sad and ragey that as we speak, boys are having their genitalia mutilated.

This goes not happen in the UK less for religious reasons. I think I 've only ever seen ONE circum in my entire life....despite plenty of practice when I was younger.

....and that was an American

I have heard it is not the norm in Europe, in general. I laughed at your "practice" comment. I never encountered a whole penis until I was in my 30s.

I rebelled in my 20s...settled now and been with hubby for 15 years. (age 43)

..Your "whole penis" comment made me chortle and my mind was imagining all sorts of possibilities!!

Ummm...looks like David had a medical issue and the treatment went bad. Yeah, that will mess ya up big time but it was not that the parents wanted to cut the boys.

I've met more than one older male who HAD to have the foreskin removed due to medical issues later in life.

I've had a couple of friends who did all they could to save their young sons from being cut for the same medical issue...sometimes it works, sometimes the boys end up having to be cut.
