Just think - a warm vacation spot where we wouldn't need to change currency...

That's looney.... er, loonies.

Icelanders will have to learn what 'looneys and twoneys' means when asking for change for ten.

If the Icelanders are smart they will also create a tax haven
for wealthy Canadians . For the newly poor Canadians they
could create a taxation trauma recovery refuge .

I want to hear them say "double-double" because of course now that they're taking on the loonie as their national currency, they've got to adapt Timmy's for their coffee.

I dig it. Iceland's a place I want to visit anyway at some point, sadly there are no direct flights. Pragmatically, it makes a lot of sense for them- and I bet it could do good stuff for their tourism industry.

There are tons of direct flights to Reykjavik via Iceland Air. The flight below is a direct flight from Toronto International for under $600 USD.

There is a TV consumer advocate on HLN that I watch regularly named Clark Howard. He says the cheapest way to fly to Europe is on Iceland Air, with a stopover at Reykjavik and then going on to Ireland, Scotland or Holland. You can save $hundreds$ doing it that way.

My landlord and his wife took their honeymoon in Iceland last year. They really liked it. Not a lot of flashy tourist resorts there, but the natural landscape is awesome, the people are really nice, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable.

Maybe we could adopt Icelandic as our second language and ditch French.

Iceland looks breathtaking as a holiday destination. They're getting into ice bars too - we'll talk Brian, we'll talk.

Maybe they can arrange a bulk deal on Nokia products for a bit of say on our monetary policy...

Nokia is in Finland. But let me tell, Icelandic lamb is like the veal of the lamb world.
