Default BG bought a Beeman GT600 .177 caliber pellet rifle today

We found it at one of our favorite junktique stores. It was a bit pricey at $85, but well worth the money. It is grooved for a scope but doesn't need one. And since it's a break barrel model it isn't advisable anyway. We sighted it in within ten minutes on her deck and it shoots real nice. I ballistolled it real good first and checked it over and it passed muster. A good pellet rifle is a must have on any farm and we sure could have used one last week when we had to deal with that water snake.

I can't find any specs online for this air rifle but would sure like to know what the feet per second rating is. Does anyone here have any experience with this model? Please chime in and help fill in the blanks if you do. Thanks.

It sure is a sweet rifle! Max spotted it in the junktique store and gave it a good going over. We left a message for the booth vender with some questions. He called us that evening and gave us the low down. He'd bought the thing for over $200 and just didn't use it much. It shot low and left. Nice fellow, we've bought quite a bit of stuff from his booth. Anyway, he assured us it was in good working order and would refund our money if it wasn't so.

Max did some searching and the reviews were very good. Its repairability was very good as well. So we bought it, brought it home and Max gave it a good going over. He set up a target and began to sight it in. It has a beautiful sight adjustment system and it didn't take long to hone it in. He'd shoot and I'd spot, adjust and try again. Once we got it tweeked we did a little target practice. I hit a can at 25 yards 5 out of 5 times. The ammo is inexpensive and it makes no noise. This is going to be fun to plink with! Since regular ammo has gotten so expensive its been hard to justify doing much shooting.

Its a good addition to the household!

BG did some research and found out that rifle packs a 1,000 fps punch! Not bad and about what I expected. I'm fairly impressed with the quality on that little rifle. It's not heavy like my Norinco pellet rifle. But the stock is first rate and the cocking mechanism is solid and locks up tight. Now if we can just get a good bulk buy on some pellets we'll be set for small game hunting and plinking. Pellet guns are fun!!!
