Arrow The 8 hour feeding window for better health

Testing on mice has shown that an 8 hour feeding window keeps body weight lower, as well as reducing high blood pressure and diabetes risk. The mice were fed the same amount of fatty food in two groups. One group could eat all day long, and the other group fasted for 16 hours a day. The group that had an 8 hour feeding window had a 28% lower body weight, and out performed the all day eaters in an exercise test without any adverse health effects.

An old thread but this is what I am doing at the moment. Intermittent fasting (16/8) where I have my last feed before 8pm and my first meal the next day around 12-1pm.

On weight training days I eat big in that timeframe and on cardio days I eat small with little to no carbs.

I rarely feel hungry in the mornings and I just make sure I don't gorge when I break the fast.

The weight is steadily coming off, I sleep a lot better, my acid reflux is gone and the usual digestive issues are mostly a thing of the past.

Weekends I eat breakfast.

Hmm. I mostly eat between 3 and 10 pm these days. Not a lot of calories, and the weight still piles up.

I wonder if that means I can eat 28% more within that window
and stay the same weight ?

I know some sites have reported this as an "eat anything you want and lose weight" type thing but it certainly aint that. I find it quite hard to eat a lot of calories on weight training days doing it this program.

This blog post was the one that put me onto it.
