Default Police Swarm Louisiana State GOP Convention

... assault chairman, arrest RP delegates.

Finding themselves with a decisive majority of delegates supporting Ron Paul, including the new elected chairman, the former chairman of the Louisiana State Republican Convention called in the Louisiana State Police. Chaos ensued.

I am stunned .

Is this likely to have occurred because the police are ignorant of their powers
and incorrectly interpreted the situation ?

Will there now be some sort of split in the Republican party unless
this is dealt with quickly and properly ?

Can the media get away with ignoring this event ?

It occurred because the police are well aware of their powers.

Who has control over those huge police pensions and months of vacation and sick time, and can appoint the chiefs the rank and file want, and provide them with all the big bad toys? Ahhh, yes... elected officials. Some will cater to the police because the police and their unions can 1. bring in a LOT of votes, and 2. an unhappy police force can make life hell for anyone in office.

Yes. I see a replay of the Clinton/Obama thuggery of 2008 within the GOP this year. That alone is astounding. Despite the accusations of the Dems, in my personal experience the GOP has always distanced itself from such tactics.

I blame Romney. There's a YouTube video of him confronting a young man who was persisting in asking him a question. Romney turned and snarled at him, "Do you know who I am? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" That told me all I needed to know about the man. He is a power hungry elitist. I put him on the same level as Obama - a narcissist who sees the Presidency as a path to enrichment for himself and his cronies.

The GOP convention is going to be in Tampa, FL this year. The location of the convention is interesting. It is being held in a sports stadium that backs on to a channel where cruise boats dock. In other words, it would be very easy for police to surround the stadium. I think they are Expecting chaos.

Yes. The lamestream media gets away with ignoring important events that do not agree with their worldview, all the time.

Default "

State Central Committeeman and Ron Paul supporter Henry Herford Jr. of Franklin Parrish was attacked by some security officials who later claimed they didn’t realize that the body had voted out the previous chairman Roger Villere.

Many observers expressed shock that the establishment would resort to such violent tactics against fellow Republicans.

Delegates to the state convention were chosen at caucus meetings on April 28th. Ron Paul slates won four of six congressional district contests. Of the approximately 180 delegates attending the state convention, 113 voted to remove the LAGOP chairman Roger Villere

Nearly two-thirds of the delegates immediately responded to the removals and arrests by chanting, "the chairman lost the vote" then physically moving their chairs, literally turning their backs to the GOP chair.

French. Louisiana is Cajun Country.

He's running for Lt Gov. Wonder how he'll do now that his behavior at the convention was made public.

I'm surprised they didn't hold it in a beer hall.
