Talking Inspired by Mistress Flourbug!

Yesterday, I 'rescued' a nice piece of pork from the freezer before it got... frozed. Not having clue #1 about rubs - I do not come from a BBQ/grill culture... I cheated. I used a, (gasp!), store bought seasoning by Club House - a sub brand called 'La Grille'. It smells wonderful. Earlier this afternoon, I poured a generous amount onto a rimmed plate & thoroughly covered each side of the hunk of pork. I sealed it all in a large Ziploc & put in the fridge. I just took it out & had a look & whiff - oh heaven! I used a fork to move the meat around & even though it was pretty tender to begin with, it's even more tender.

As soon as this cooking show finale is over, I'll slice up one or two onions - enough to cover the bottom of my Crock Pot. If I remember right, I'm to gently place the meat on that layer, add a few tablespoons of a good BBQ sauce, then cook. I have a decent sauce but need to find a really good one. I think my ex-husband has a winner - I'll have to ask Brian what it is & where to get it. If it's not available here, I'll find something spectacular - that's doable if I only have to use a few tablespoons at a time.

I'll turn the pot on in the morning & at some point in the early afternoon, I'll cut up a few potatoes & several nice mushrooms I have & toss them in at the appropriate times.

Not a damned thing has cooked yet & I'm already looking forward to supper!

Brown the meat before putting it in the crockpot! Hot pan, just sear it on all sides to keep the juices inside.

Other than that, you've got it.

(gsgs - throw chocolate on the floor, leave a trail out of the kitchen into a bubble bath.)
