So my brother was diagnosed with Hemochromatosis, seems like a pretty common genetic disorder among folks of western european decent. Of course now all of us siblings will need to be tested..though since I'm still pre-menapause symptoms probably won't show in me yet if I have it so that will give me time to make changes to my diet etc. if I do test positive.
Anyone here dealing with this?
Lisa I'm so sorry your brother has this. I haven't heard of it before but it sounds diffecult to put up with. My DS#1 hada problem absorbing iron when he was first born. It lasted until he was almost a year old. The dr said it was because he was a preemie.
