Alligator T-Bones Toyota on FL Interstate

A 12' alligator tried to cross I-275 in St Pete, FL... his tail got nipped by a truck and he turned and lunged at the next car - a new Toyota Scion. It made its way across the highway, getting hit two more times, the last time launching a car several feet into the air as it drove over the beast. No humans were injured, but the gator died on the side of the road.

At the risk of being called and ageist, and this is based on our experiences since moving down here:

>>>> People STOPPING in the middle of a state highway, for no reason.

>>>> People driving over the median (even in an RV) to make illegal u-turns in the middle of a busy road.

>>>> People texting AND drinking while driving AND using their KNEES to steer their vehicle (this trick we've seen folks of all ages do)


So renegade gators crossing the roadway and attacking a car, is sort of low on the potential road dangers you might face.
