DENVER -- The entertainment website TMZ is reporting that one of the theater shooting victims has hired a lawyer and plans to sue.

Torrence Brown, Jr. was not shot, but his best friend died and Brown says he is suffering from extreme trauma, according to TMZ.com.

I'm sure he was traumatized - I'm sure anyone in the theater that night was traumatized as well. According the the article, he plans to sue three 'entities' - the theater, quote: 'doctors who the attorneys says gave the suspect several medications' & the studio that made 'The Dark Knight Rises' - okay - shotgun lawsuit as in: "let's fling a pile of poo & see if anything sticks."

On what grounds would he sue the thater? Their no firearms policy? Up to him to know that & CHOOSE to catch a show there anyway? They didn't "react right"? Police were there within a few minutes & hot on their heels were paramedics & all manner of help. Theater staff tend to be kids & medical civilians if you will. The theater was quickly cleared - I see no grounds to sue them. The studio that made the movie? Why? The concept wasn't theirs - Batman goes back decades. Violence? Horror? The movie had barely started & this was the premier - I see nothing there.

IF buddy was traumatized to the point where he needed emergency psych help, (fair enough); IF he ended up missing uncompensated days from work - okay; PERHAPS a suit to recompense him for those actual losses... when the suspect is proved guilty.

But as it stands - this is just another jerk looking to make an easy buck. I hope it's thrown out as frivolous asd/or he eats a fine for being a d*ck.

His only "award" should be paid therapy and compensation for any already missed work or future missed work as an inpatient.
