Default Organizing books on Android Kindle app?

Is there any way? Any way at all to make categories? Folders? Shelves? Something so that I don't have a bazillion books all on one friggin' page? It's so disorganized, it's driving me nutty.

I just checked the Amazon help forum to see if there was anything new along these lines. The question was asked again, and the helpful answer? "Remove books that you have read from your device. You can always download them again."

It appears that the answer is still no.

I downloaded an app called Collections for $2.99.

It allows you to categorize your books by creating your own categories. The only drawback, and I do think it can be a big one, is that the books have to be downloaded through Amazon. It does not recognize books that you download anywhere else.

It's better than no categorization, but not ideal.

I am still working on a way to use apps like ES File Manager to create book categories, but despair of it working well enough.

Any programmers on the board who want to tackle this one? Could be a moneymaker, a big one!!

Yep, that's all I found on my searches and why I asked here.

I did come across the Collections app but it appears to be for the Kindle itself and not the Android app (or something along those lines). Did I get that wrong?

In the meantime, I've been editing the metadata of each book in calibre so I can more easily search for various terms to bring up groups of books. That only works with some of the books, though. It might work with all but I've yet to figure out how.

What a pain.
