Agis Automation wins innovation prize with sensor

Agis Automation in Harmelen was recently Herman Wijffels Innovation Award 2008 in receiving.
The company won the prize for the sensor, a device that is put in the left ear of a cow and constantly is measuring temperature, noise and motion .
It compares this data with the history of the cow and data on known disease patterns
If the behavior of the cow is too much different from the expected value, the sensor provides an alert. This makes it easier to provide early warning that the animal is ill.
The award is a cash prize of € 50,000. Former chairman of the Social Economic Council (SER) and namesake of the prize Herman Wijffels said that innovators such as Agis help produce more and consume: 'These are the people who should bring this country in the next phase of development . "
