Don't wrestle with a pig. The pig enjoys it and you get muddy.

Gonna bake some chicken breasts. Can't decide if I wanna go teriyaki or bbq. Making hubby his buttered noodles and will probably do a veggie mix.

I had a fast food diet today. Biscuits with bacon for breakfast, pizza for lunch and dinner.

Its friday so we're having soup and sandwich. I made some chicken salad with cranberries and chopped walnuts for my lunch so I may have that with the soup. Hubby will have a quesadilla.

Yesterday I made fried ham steak, augratin potatoes and peas

I ate at the art walk tonight. The downtown businesses have little munchies set out and if you get there early enough you can make a dining experience of it

I made a big pot of chili yesterday. I'll freeze most of it but will keep enough out for our supper for the next few days.

I don't cook on saturdays so its take out today. I want to try that wendy's asiago ranch chicken club sandwich and I want a frosty ( my one splurge for the week)

once I have one of the sandwiches I can then try to make my own version here at home and maybe make it a bit healthier. we'll see lol

today I'm baking some popcorn shrimp. I have a frozen stirfry veggie mix I will use some sweet and sour sauce on and make some rice to go with it. If hubby wants bread there are some leftover biscuits from breakfast he can eat lol

the wendy's sandwich wasn't anything to brag about. It was a big piece of chicken breast I will give them that but the asiago cheese was no bigger than a quarter and there was only one piece of bacon torn in half to make two pieces on it. There was more lettuce and no flavor tomato on it than anything else. Couldn't even taste any ranch

If I do make my own I'll marinate the chicken and then grill it and use some nice fresh slices of cheese and homemade ranch and toast the roll too.

I had an unexpectedly good combo of random ingredients for lunch on Saturday, which I must remember to make again. Butternut and sweet potato slices boiled, with some sugar snaps thrown in at the last minute. Mushrooms sauted in another pan, with chili and garlic, then cream and grainy mustard to finish, and a bag of spinach poured on top to wilt at the end.

Yesterday started with a yoghurt parfait, made with soy yoghurt, museli, strawberries and blueberries. Then we sneaked out for dunch, as OH had to drive late last night to his workplace for today. There may have been piri piri chicken, corn and coleslaw involved. And olives. Lots of olives.

Have porkchops in the crockpot. I'm braising them in a German Pilsner this time. Buttered noodles and pickled beets to go with it.
Hubby's bread of course

I THOUGHT there was a thread for Pi Day, but can't find it.

We had about 4 ounces of pork tenderloin left over from Sunday dinner, so tonight's pie was a variation of a medieval recipe: Pyes of Paris. Apple, onion, pork all chopped fine, sautéed in butter and spiced with "poudre douce" (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger) and a splash of white wine, then baked in a pie shell "until it is enow."

There are no leftovers, so it serves 2.

I love trying old recipes! That pie sounds delicious!

I am eating (just now) left over chicken fried steak, mashed taters and gravy. It sure tastes good after a very long day.
