Gluten Free Sandwich Bread
Gluten free sandwich bread. This was posted on fb and the pics looked delicious. The poster said it was a great recipe so I thought I'd share:
1 1/2C of warm water (or milk)
3 large eggs
4 tablespoons of olive oil (or melted butter)
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 teaspoons of dry active yeast
3 1/2C of gluten free bread flour, I used jovial brand no. 2
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
-Beat water, eggs, olive oil, sugar & yeast.
-Add the flour, and sprinkle salt on top
-Mix together until it becomes dough (my dough was a little sticky & soft compared to typical bread.)
-Cover with plastic wrap for 45 minutes
-Grease an 8x4in loaf pan & place dough in pan.
-Smooth the top of the dough with a wet spatula, then cover with plastic for 30 minutes (the dough will rise.)
-Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
I used water & olive oil in place of milk & butter, because we needed to keep it dairy free.
Next time, I will be adding flax & chia seeds, but I wanted to test the basic recipe first.
This bread does not taste like gluten free food; it's absolutely delicious!
