Cuomo to CBC: 'Should Be a Taxpayer Revolt'

In Andrew Cuomo’s speech about consolidating local government in Manhattan this morning,
he said it’s inexcusable for government to keep expanding during a financial downturn, since it also expands when the economy is doing well.
“Why did the government make more money?” Cuomo asked rhetorically during a speech at a breakfast hosted by the Citizens Budget Commission.
“Not only did they take the money on the upswing, they spent it.”
Cuomo went on, “It’s absurd. It is absurd. It is incompetent and no other entity in this country could have done it.”
There “should be a taxpayer revolt,” he said.
