Default How to sharpen a knife in the field.

Ok, if you can sharpen a knife in the field, you can do it in the kitchen or workshop. The importance of a sharp knife cannot be stressed enough. The sharper the knife, the less work you have to do when using one, and the safer you will be.

Slurry on a stick! Great idea. Max taught me to use a belt sander to dress the edge of a really dull knife. And I find that most new knives could use a little touch up. After that, a big thumbs up for EZ lap sharpeners. They make a really nice line. I use a knife daily and carry a little Schrade diamond steel. I'm pretty happy with that. Sunday, we processed a lamb and skinning was a snap.
