Default Help Please?!

I got in an argument with a Nurse. Se says that during a severe influenza pandemic, she can just resign and walk out - quit. I think she understands that it has to be at the end of her shift? Anyway, I thought here was some kind of law that made staying at work and NOT QUITING compulsory?

CS? Al of you influenza Nurses out there?????

FWIW ............ Despite getting the flu vaccine on the 11th, I managed to catch the flu --- Hit like a brick wall, symptom wise on the 25th, woke Thanksgiving with a temp of 101, after a night of severe sweating and a headache that lasted a couple days and general significant body aches and moderate chest congestion .... No temp today, first time since this bug took up residence in my body, mild headache, milder body aches.............

Of course as wife / caregiver / do'er of everything, hubby after only slightly being displeased on Thanksgiving, is wondering *why are you still so tired/hacking/slow moving?*

Bless his soul........... In almost 30 years I can tally all the times I've been sick enough, or injured enough, to not go 100%..... Less in total than the number of medical appointments he has in any given three to 6 month period.

Do not catch this bug if at all possible.

I agree with "THAT".......... I had it in October and shook it off after a couple of weeks.
It came back in November a little less serious.
First day of Summer today so I hope its stuffed now.
Lots of people have died of it here but the media has "hushed up"

I can't recall if it was in the fed or state pandemic plans.

I'm going on vague recollection, but as I recall in the event of a declared public health emergency that certain "essential personnel" are in practical effect drafted in to the cause much the way military conscription works during a war.

Now how strongly the powers-that-be would try to hew to that line I cannot say. Further, it's we're looking a Captain Trips (Stephen King's The Stand) scenario how strongly they could hew to it would be another question entire. In the beginning though I'd be willing to bet they would try.
