Question Science-defying Kentucky Creation Museum ark set to launch

Really wasn't sure where to post this:

***

WILLIAMSTOWN, KY.—In the beginning, Ken Ham made the Creation Museum in northern Kentucky. And he saw that it was good at spreading his belief that the Bible is a book of history, the universe is only 6,000 years old, and evolution is wrong and is leading to our moral downfall.

And Ham said, let us build a gargantuan Noah’s ark only 45 minutes away to draw millions more visitors. And let it be constructed by Amish woodworkers, and financed with donations, junk bonds and tax rebates from the state of Kentucky. And let it hold an animatronic Noah and lifelike models of some of the creatures that came on board two-by-two, such as bears, short-necked giraffes — and juvenile Tyrannosaurus rexes.

And it was so.

Ham’s “Ark Encounter,” built at a cost of more than $102 million, is scheduled to open July 7 in Williamstown, Kentucky. Ham and his crew have succeeded in erecting a colossal landmark and an ambitious promotional vehicle for their particular brand of Christian fundamentalism, known as “young earth” or “young universe” creationism...***

They should invite ISIS to the opening and hug each other

Ham was one of Noah's sons.

I wonder if this charlatan actually was born as a Ham or if he changed it to that for Biblical effect?

Shh, or Grandson #3 will hear you! When he was about 4 he wanted one desperately. He planned to teach it to be nice so it wouldn't want to eat people.

A few years ago my wife and I visited the Creation Museum in Kentucky.

They use dinosaurs as a way to attract children. You meander through various diorama type things, starting with Adam and Eve, a serpent, penguins, wolves, etc. ALL IN THE SAME PLACE AND TIME.

Then after the perfect creation comes the Fall, Cain kills Abel, and the world becomes corrupted. The dinosaurs were contemporary with humans {they actually date a velociraptor at 2348 BC (yes, right to the year)}. Noah was able to fit them on the ark because they were babies.

Kids these days are taught the evil evolution, which is part of the reason for many of the problems of today--graffiti, unhappiness, disengagement.

At the end, they usher you into a room with a video that tries to proselytize you.

I was disappointed because they used to have a triceratops you could ride on, and I wanted my picture with it.

All in all, it's a lame attempt to use "science" to demonstrate the viability of Creationism.

If ever I'm in that part of the world I think I'd want to go see the place. Looks interesting.

I want to go to Universal to see Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and ride the Hogwarts Express. I've been to Disney. It's just another theme park.

Just because other people believe this stuff does not mean that I have to.

There are a considerable number of things our Federal government spends money on that I do not believe in either, and some I am very much against. And in their case it really IS my tax money being spent on it.

That boat'll never float.

Literally. It won't float.

Really. It should sink.

All you need is a good FLOOD to test it out.

Well, I didn't get a T rex as a child for a pet but today, a lovely little 5 year old boy coloured one... just for ME. It's on my fridge door right now.

Borrowed, temporary 'grandchildren' work...
