"The stakes are so high."

Too competetive for my blood. As parents, we all want our children to do well but at what price? The time of innocence is short & I figure even small ones' lives are complex enough just learning the basics of being a small human integrating into society.

My youngest - I judged not ready whe it came time for junior kindergarten. Oh, the horror! "But he'll be so far behind!" Behind what, exactly? I preferred he have that extra year at home to mature, grow more confident. He 'caught up' quickly eough in senior K.
