Default Flea market contact lenses

Let that sink in for a moment.

They were cosmetic. http://www.everythinglubbock.com/new...nses/657199743

A woman is suing for damages after claiming a pair of contact lenses she bought at a flea market stand caused her to go blind.

According to KAMC, Liza Garcia bought the contacts from the One Stop Contact Lenses booth at the National Flea Market in Lubbock, Texas, on Feb. 9.

After wearing the contacts for three days, she suffered burning and swelling in her eyes, and went to hospital, where she was diagnosed with a bacterial infection, KPRC reports.

The infection reportedly caused ulcers, scar tissue and permanent damage to her eyes, leaving her legally blind, the lawsuit says.

She is suing several people, including the man who sold her the lenses, for more than $1 million.

Personally, there are things a person *shouldn't buy* at a flea market or '$ store'........... Birth control, pregnancy tests, hair color and contact lens.

Think about it:

A pack of $1 condoms ------ might work, might not. Is it worth it to save a little money or risk 18 years of child support?

Hair color . it *does* have expiration / past its prime time frame---- You *might* get that honey blonde you bought or you might wind up with pea soup green.

Think you *might be* pregnant? Wouldn't you rather spend the extra money and know, rather than toss down a dollar and *hope* the test is accurate?

Contact lens ....... Prescription or purely cosmetic....... No way in hee-haw-hell, would anyone with an IQ above room temperature actually think buying them from a table at a flea market, is a *good idea*.

Seriously, I won't even go into all the dozens of reasons this is a bad idea ---

But just for those cosmetic lens,......eyes have different shapes ...... Wrong shape / size and you run the risk of scratching your eye, any number of contamination sources, from point of manufacture to the seller to the buyers eyes ..... Why risk it?

Doubt this girl will get a penny ---- Does she really think a flea market seller is carrying a million dollar insurance policy? Or is this the first step before she can sue the owner of the flea market itself?

Stupid hurts. Sometimes it hurts real bad.
