Blakely rocks!!

Australian shepherd named Blakely adopts three adorable tiger cubs abandoned by their mother

Blakely, a six-year-old Australian shepherd, has acted as an adoptive mother for many baby animals at the Cincinnati Zoo

Her latest bunch of youngsters are three one-month-old Malayan tiger cubs who have been ignored by their mother

Zoo workers say Blakely teaches the cubs the difference between play fighting and hurting, lessons that their mother would normally impart

Our German Shepherd/Collie cross did this with our Siamese kittens when I was a kid. She chased the cat up to feed them, then stayed with them, bathed them, etc. Made us feel sad and guilty because she was spayed. We had taken away her ability to be a mom.

Don't feel guilty. There's more than one way (giving birth) to be a 'mom'.

You sweet girl had strong nurturing instincts and was able to enjoy them by being a mom to 'her' kittens.

Not "her kittens," NV! Clearly, they were her cat-puppies! Tasha wanted so bad to help with Jasmine's "cat-puppies" but Jasmine clawed her nose when she stuck it in the kittening box. After a couple of weeks Jas didn't care anymore, and Tasha would wash them VERY carefully, using just the tip of her tongue and with one eye on Jas all the while.

Wow! Our mama cat Miss Mouse was so fed up with her kittens and with us for keeping them. She fed them until they were eating on their own and then wanted them gone.
