Default French TV is beginning to prepare us for the next wave

The French evening news has just had a ten minute program about pandemic panic at the supermarkets...an excercise where half the supermarket staff is out sick and only one delivery has been made, the clients panic and fight over items and the staff is abused because limits are set of the number of certain items allowed on limit...they did mention toilet paper, one package per customer.

The presenter said that this was both to get employers thinking about training staff to be multi-purpose in case other staff didn't come in, and also to help citizens to begin thinking to buy early and not have to rush and fight for items in supermarkets.

It was rather frightening to watch...and even more frightening to think of this being a 'public service announcement'.

My very next trip, in about two weeks will be for just that.

Toilet Paper, paper towels and kleenex..,

How appropriate the timing!

Maybe I'll have to keep my shopping date flexible!

It wouldn't load for me.

Maybe I'll make a trip up to Costco for some toilet paper, and try again when I get back!

Sounds like a plan!

Well well, now that is one interesting thing. Was it the official state news tv or a commercial station that broadcasted this?
In any case, either it's getting uglier than we are led to believe or someone has a lot of shares in vacs and Tamiflu.
Meanwhile critisism here is growing about the Dutch government not giving enough info on Mexican flu. A little snipped in the news yesterday about emergency units on hospital grounds set up for patients. And indeed, when I was in hospital monday I wondered what those prefab buildings were doing there.

So this broadcast is well timed Susie.
