Default World's first malaria vaccine will be available next year - and could save tens of thousands

Quote:
Infected children in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi will trial the treatment in 2018
Among those aged five to 17 months old, four in 10 cases could be prevented
Severe cases may be reduced by a third, as well as lowering hospitalisations
The regions were chosen due to their high malaria rates, yet some are concerned over whether these less developed nations can deliver the four vaccine doses
The World Health Organisations aims to wipe out the disease globally by 2040

THIS is a VERY big deal! How wonderful!

We now have 500,000 deaths a year from malaria, and morbidity approaches 600 million a year. Absolutely staggering. This is huge.
