Exclamation Sooner or later, We are Going to Have to Talk About This

The elephant is in the room and has passed gas. The question is - is "He" getting ready to really embarr'ass' us further and much worse?

Sooner or later we really should talk about "It" as it is healthy. Hell, even Ann Coulter is feeling guilty!?

"I’m not very happy with what has happened so far," Coulter said. "I guess we have to try to push him to keep his promises. But this isn’t North Korea, and if he doesn’t keep his promises, I’m out. This is why we voted for him. I think everyone who voted for him knew his personality was grotesque, it was the issues."
I think many share her opinion. I don't think Trump's personality is grotesque. (Ann Coulter doesn't seem to know the definition of the word, seeing how she's had a long romantic involvement with Jimmie Walker.) I actually think Trump is a pretty decent person. I think he is the product of his environment. He's not a politician, he's not an academic, he's not a military commander. NY construction is right out of an old episode of The Sopranos, with high stakes negotiations and politics, and that includes greasing the right palms. His taste is unquestionably nouveau riche, but so is he. He's not from old money. He's not sophisticated. He is inarticulate and his lack of skill with words leaves him open to nit-picking and accusations of lying.

Considering all of this, he is going to make mistakes, but I am willing to give him a LOT of leeway so long as he delivers. It was the issues, it still IS the issues.

But he HAS to deliver. I am with Coulter on that.

I'd like to comment at length, but it's hard to type from the floor, where I am being crushed by this damn feather.

Um, hmm. His father was worth $300million, and he (Donald) is ivy-league educated. So I guess it depends what you mean by "old money" and what your expectations are regarding elite NY military school and an Ivy education.

Seems to me he was born with a silver spoon, to a father who was already a fantastically successful NYC real estate developer and was given every opportunity in life. Yet he became an inarticulate oafish womanizer. Is he patriotic? Yes. But maybe that's not enough.

Multigenerational wealth. Families that were wealthy over a century ago and are still wealthy because the way to preserve and build upon wealth has been passed parent to child, through many many generations. Their children marry into other established dynasties, and benefit from their knowledge and connections. They live in estates furnished with antiques because they have no need to convince anyone they have money. To the contrary, they're very happy blending into the background.

Nouveau riche is someone who has moved from middle to upper class, or the child of someone who has made that move. Entrepreneurs, stock brokers, internet millionaires, even farmers who find themselves land rich. They haven't had the benefit of generational wisdom so they spend their money on flash and status symbols - things they think make them look rich. They crave attention and appreciation of their status.

This is Donald Trump's childhood home:

This is Trump's NY apartment:

Now, the Kushner/Trump couple is another matter. They are well on their way to seeing their children called "old money".

Exactly what is it you are waiting for Trump to ''deliver'' .

There are complicated and difficult processes to go through before he
can deliver much of good and lasting value . He could not even drain the
swamp without first fixing the pump ( Comey , FBI , DOJ ) , which he
appears to be doing in a methodical way .

It seems to me those demanding it all be done instantly are not helping
the man but rather adding to his already immense difficulties .

I assume he has goals and is working towards them . For example I
think when the foundations are in place he will go after the Clinton
crime gang , the illegal phone tapping etc .

I thought Hannity points out well what Trump is up against. He says 5 different groups are working against him.

Trump has already done the one thing I voted for him to do in the first place. Maybe he'll get a chance to do it one or two more times before he leaves office.

Everything else?

Mostly I spend my time chewing my tongue. It saves bickering with the wife.

My reading is Trump did not build that gold house, he bought it and gave it to the American Government.

BB, that gold room is part of a gold apartment in NYC's Trump Towers. 100% Trump.

Mar-a-lago, in Florida, was once considered by the US government as a Winter White House, but it never happened. Trump bought it and turned the estate into a country club (a very expensive country club). When he learned how leaky the White House was, he would go to Mar-a-lago on the weekends and walk around talking to people out on the golf course. Whether or not Trump intends keeping Mar-a-lago for his own use during his Presidency or gifting the government with the facility to use as a Winter White House at the end of his term remains to be seen.
