I am having left overs from a foraging lecture LOL Sassafras and Maple cornbread, mixed spring greens and ramps cheese ball and pickled Bull Brier tips with pine tips and ramps. I'm also having left over beef stewed over a wood fire and beans. It's a feast!

Tonight we had hamburgers cooked on the grill, nestled in soft, fresh buns and topped with real cheddar cheese, bacon, and condiments. I served baked potato wedges and coleslaw on the side, and the dressing for the coleslaw was homemade mayonnaise with a bit of celery seed, mustard seed, salt, pepper, sugar, and apple cider vinegar whisked in. Dessert was apple crisp served with whipped cream that had a little icing sugar and vanilla added to it.

Baked cod. We ate most of it, there's enough for one serving left and I baked little over two pounds.

Slice a half-pound of bacon or bacon ends, cook on low to medium heat in a deep skillet with a bit of olive oil....you want it soft-cooked, not browned. Add a finely chopped medium onion and a couple of minced garlic cloves. When onion is soft, add about 1/3 cup dry white wine, a 15 oz. can of petit diced tomatoes and their juice, and a shake or two of red pepper flakes. Let simmer till slightly thickened. Add about a half cup of chopped parley, adjust salt, and toss with cooked pasta of choice. Sprinkle Parmesan on each serving.

Amounts are adjustable to taste, but cut back onion if it's a ferocious one. Simple, fast, tasty!

Had a 3lb chuck roast in the crockpot all day. We'll have the roast with au jus, baked sweet potato fries and some peas with just a touch of fresh chopped mint. Have leftover biscuits from breakfast to eat with it

Yesterday DS brought us dinner when he brought Miah over to mow. We had skirt roast with carrots and potatoes. It was so good.

Tonight we are just piecing, it's hot out.
